A Coral Gables Staple Since 2012
For more than a decade, MODO has brought high-quality furniture from around the world to Coral Gables. We travel to the industry's leading expos to source unique pieces exclusively from renowned factories that meet rigorous quality standards. Every piece we carry is sourced directly from premium manufacturers around the world — furniture you won't find at every other showroom in Miami. And because a high percentage of our collection ships quickly, you'll often get furniture that's both genuinely unique and fast to your door.
What truly sets us apart is our Custom-made program. Visit our showroom and work with our staff on your project, at no charge when you bring your specifications, measurements and drawings or renders. Prefer to stay home? Our paid Design Consultation brings MODO to your property: our team takes precise measurements, brings our samples directly to you, and listens closely to your needs. The consultation fee is credited toward your final invoice when you purchase with MODO. Either way, you see a 3D render of the final piece before it's built — the kind of exclusive, hands-on service that comes from doing this since 2012.
We bring MODO to you.
Imagine choosing every wood, fabric and finish in the room where it will live. With our Design Consultation, MODO comes to your property: a fully personalized service, in the comfort of your own home, designed around you and your space.
- Every sample, at your door. Our full range of woods, fabrics and finishes, so you can see and touch each option in your own light.

The consultation has a fee, quoted for your project, that is credited toward your final invoice when you purchase with MODO. We regularly serve Miami-Dade and Broward.

"Carlos provided us with hands-on service throughout the process of buying two new beds for our home. He came out to our house, took measurements, and planned a rebuild of both our master and guest bedroom beds. The results were great and the timing was very efficient."
"After a bad experience with another store, I went to Modo Furniture to buy my bedroom furniture. What a great experience. Carlos helped us with design ideas that fit our taste and budget. The furniture is well-made and looks beautiful."

About Us
Modo has been Coral Gables' source for modern furniture since 2012 — over a decade spent learning what a home actually needs, and building the expertise to deliver it.
Custom-made work is where that expertise runs deepest. Our team walks each client through scale, material, and finish, then oversees the piece from concept to delivery — so a dining table or sectional isn't just sized for a room, it's built for how that room is actually lived in.
Alongside our custom program, our showroom and catalog carry pieces we source ourselves from makers around the world — chosen one at a time for craftsmanship and character, not pulled from a mass catalog. It's how we make sure every piece we carry, custom or not, meets the same standard.
None of it works without the people behind it. Our staff bring real, hands-on expertise in design and sourcing, and we treat service as part of the product — from the first conversation in the showroom through delivery and beyond. It's why clients come back for the next room, and send friends to ask about the one we just finished.
The best way to understand any of this is to experience it firsthand. We invite you to visit our showroom on Ponce de Leon Blvd, walk the floor, and sit down with our team — no pressure, just a conversation about your space and what could go in it.

How to Choose a Sofa Bed for a Small Space
A sofa bed has two jobs: it has to be a sofa you enjoy every day and a bed your guests are comfortable on. In a small space it also has to fit the room both closed and open. Here is what we walk clients through in the showroom before they choose.
1. Measure the room twice: closed and open
Start with the sofa's footprint, then look at the bed measurements listed on the product page, because the opened bed is always longer than the sofa is deep. Leave room to walk around the bed once it is open, and decide where the coffee table goes while someone is sleeping. Pieces with a built-in chaise, such as the Neah Sleeper Sofa Chaise or the Newilla Sleeper Sofa Chaise, list both the sofa size and the bed size so you can plan for each.
2. Measure the way in
Many Miami homes are condos, with elevators, narrow hallways and tight corners. Measure the door, the elevator, the stairwell and any turn the sofa has to make, and compare them to the product's width and depth. If the path is tight, tell us before you order. It is much easier to choose a different size or arrangement beforehand than after delivery.
3. Choose the sleeping size for how it will really be used
- Occasional guests: a Full size is often enough, and it keeps the sofa compact. The Cubed Sleeper Sofa comes in Full and Queen.
- Regular overnight use or two adults: go with Queen, and compare the mattress type and thickness.
- A guest room that doubles as a living room: look at the sofa as a daily seat first, and treat the bed as the second job.
4. Look at the mattress and the mechanism
The mattress is what your guests will notice. Pieces differ in how they are built: some use a no-zag and pocket spring construction with foam, others a reversible memory-foam mattress with a washable cover, and others a thermoweld mechanism like the one in the Marlon Sofa Bed. The details are listed under Material on each product page. If you can, open the bed in the showroom and lie on it before you decide.
5. Arms, legs and visual weight
In a small room, a sofa that shows some floor looks lighter. Slim arms and visible legs, like those on the Cubed with chrome legs, save width and keep the room open. Standard upholstered arms, as on the Carnell Sleeper Sofa, give a more traditional living room look and a more supportive place to lean. Many models are available with more than one arm style, so compare them side by side.
6. Storage and fabric
Some sleepers include a storage box in the chaise or base, which is useful for bedding. For fabric, choose something durable and easy to clean, especially if the sofa will be used every day. Pieces in our in-stock fabrics generally arrive sooner than special-order fabrics, and the product page notes the lead time where it applies.
7. Delivery
Large pieces are delivered white-glove: placed in your home, assembled where needed, and the packaging removed. We give a delivery window of about two hours, and the driver calls before arriving. Read more in our FAQ.
Quick checklist
- Do I know the closed and the opened dimensions, and where the open bed will sit?
- Will it fit through the door, elevator and hallway?
- Have I tried the bed, not only the sofa?
- Is the fabric one I can live with every day?
- Do I need storage?
Ready to compare? Browse all of our sofa beds, or stop by the Coral Gables showroom and try them in person.

Travertine vs. Marble Coffee Tables: Which Should You Choose?
Stone coffee tables are some of the most lasting pieces you can put in a living room, and travertine and marble are the two most common choices. They are both natural stone, but they look and age differently. This guide explains the differences so you can choose with confidence.
What they are
Marble is a metamorphic stone known for its veining, and for its range from bright white to deep colors. Travertine is a limestone formed around mineral springs. It has a softer, warmer, more organic look with subtle striations. In the furniture trade, travertine is often described as "travertine marble," which is how you will see it named in our collection.
How they look
- Travertine: warm beige, cream and sand tones, usually in a matte or honed finish. It suits calm, natural rooms and pairs well with linen, wood and boucle.
- Marble: can be crisp white, grey, or rich and dramatic. The Victoria Coffee Table is cut from Rosso Levanto marble with deep burgundy tones and white veining in a high gloss.
How they feel
Matte travertine feels soft and quiet. Polished marble is cooler, shinier and more formal. Both are heavy, which is part of their appeal: a stone table stays put and anchors the room.
Care
Stone is natural, so it needs a little attention.
- Wipe spills promptly, especially wine, coffee, oil and citrus. Acids can dull polished marble and leave marks on any stone.
- Use coasters and trays, and avoid placing hot pots or abrasive objects directly on the surface.
- Clean with a soft cloth and a stone-safe, pH-neutral cleaner. Skip harsh or acidic cleaners.
- Ask about sealing. Stone is often sealed, and some surfaces may need resealing over time. Follow the care guidance for your piece.
A matte finish tends to hide light marks better than a high gloss, which shows every touch. That is one reason matte travertine is popular for everyday living rooms.
Choosing by room
- Warm, organic, relaxed: travertine, such as the Piedra Coffee Table (oval, matte) or the Rita Coffee Table (two pill-shaped pedestals in Large and Small).
- Dramatic, high-contrast, glam: marble in a bold color, like the Victoria.
- Light and low: the Pebble Round Coffee Table pairs a solid marble base with a 12 mm tempered glass top, so it keeps sightlines open.
- Matching the rest of the room: stone consoles and dining tables, like the Piedra Oval Dining Table, make it easy to carry the same material through the house.
Size and weight
Allow about 14–18 inches between the table and the sofa, and aim for a table around two-thirds the length of the sofa. Stone tables are heavy, so tell us about stairs, elevators and delicate floors when you order. Our white-glove delivery places the piece in your home.
A note on natural variation
No two slabs are the same. Veining, color and small natural markings vary, and that is part of the character of real stone. Photos show a representative piece.
Browse all coffee tables, or visit the showroom to see and touch the stone in person.

How Custom Furniture Works: From Idea to Delivery
Custom furniture is simpler than most people expect. You decide the size, fabric and finish, we guide you through the choices, and the piece is built for your room. Here is how the process works at MODO.
What can be made custom
Our custom-made program covers closets, wall units, wall paneling, kitchens, dining tables, bars, coffee and end tables, sofas, beds, bunk beds, Murphy beds, buffets, dressers and nightstands, storage solutions, fireplaces and bookcases. Pieces are built in our Spain and Miami workshops.
Step 1: Start with your space and how you live
Bring measurements, photos of the room, and any inspiration. If you arrive at our showroom, or message us on WhatsApp, with your specifications, measurements and drawings or renders, we work with you at no charge. A dining table is not only about the seat count: it is about how you entertain, how much walking space you need, and the shape of your room. Our team walks each client through scale, material and finish.
Step 2: Choose your options and place the deposit
This is where custom has its advantage. You choose the dimensions, the wood or stone, the fabric, and the finish. We help you compare options. Our showroom has samples for all custom projects, and with a design consultation, our team brings the samples to you at your property. There is no minimum order.
Once the specifications and the price are agreed, we require a 50% deposit to process the order. We do not prepare a 3D render until the deposit is placed. Orders cannot be changed after they are placed, so this is the moment to double-check measurements and finishes with our sales team.
Step 3: Approve the 3D render
Once the deposit is placed, we prepare a 3D render of your piece before anything goes into production. You review and approve the render, which is how we make sure there are no mistakes.
Step 4: Production
The lead time is given to you at the moment you place your order. We work on a first-come, first-served basis, so if other orders come in before you decide, the lead time can change. Placing your order sooner secures your place in the queue.
Step 5: Delivery and professional installation
We provide professional installation on all of our custom orders. Our technicians come to your home to install the piece, which matters most for wall units, bars and other built-to-fit work. Our sales team handles the logistics and coordinates the schedule with you. We regularly deliver and install in Miami-Dade and Broward. For any other location, contact our sales team to coordinate.
Tips for a smooth custom order
- Measure carefully, including doorways, elevators and stairs.
- Consider a design consultation: our team visits your property with all of our samples, takes measurements and discusses the project with you. It has a fee, quoted for your project, which is credited toward your final invoice if you purchase the project with MODO.
- Be clear about deadlines such as a move date or an event, so we can plan around them.
- Ask about financing if you want to spread the cost over time: see Financing.
Custom or ready-to-ship?
If you need something quickly, our catalog has many pieces that are in stock or ship within a few weeks. If you need a particular size, a special finish, or a piece that does not exist off the shelf, custom is the better path.
Ready to begin? Contact us or visit the Coral Gables showroom.

Buying Furniture in Miami: What to Know Before You Shop
Furnishing a home in Miami comes with its own considerations: humidity and sun, condo rules, tight elevators and a lot of indoor-outdoor living. These are the questions we suggest asking before you buy, wherever you shop.
1. Think about climate and materials
Heat, humidity and strong sun are hard on some materials. Ask what each piece is made of, how it should be cleaned, and whether it is made for the conditions it will live in. For terraces, patios and pool areas, choose pieces designed for outdoor use: our outdoor collection is built for it. Upholstered pieces indoors benefit from fabrics that are durable and easy to clean.
2. Check the delivery rules in your building
Many Miami condos require a certificate of insurance, a reserved elevator, and set delivery hours. Ask your building before you schedule, and tell your furniture store about it. We regularly deliver in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, and we can coordinate a delivery window of about two hours, with the driver calling before arrival.
3. Measure the route, not only the room
Elevators, stairwells, corners and balcony doors decide whether a sofa gets in. Measure the narrowest points and compare them with the product's dimensions. If it will not fit, ask about options before you order.
4. Understand the lead time
Some pieces are in stock and can be delivered in a few days, others take a few weeks, and the lead time for a custom order is given when you place it. If you are moving in on a set date, tell the showroom first so they can recommend what will arrive in time. See how custom furniture works.
5. See, touch and sit
Photos help, but fabrics, finishes and proportions are different in person. Sit on the sofa, open the sofa bed, touch the stone. Our showroom is at 4214 Ponce de Leon Blvd in Coral Gables, open every day.
6. Ask what white-glove delivery includes
It should cover bringing the piece into your home, placing it where you want it, assembling it where needed, and removing the packaging. At MODO, white-glove delivery includes all of that, and custom orders also include professional installation by our technicians. Delivery cost depends on the number of items, the distance and how complex the assembly is.
7. Ask about payment and financing
We accept all major credit cards (with a 3% processing fee), Zelle and wire transfer, and we require a 50% deposit to process an order, or full payment when an in-stock piece needs to be delivered right away. We work with Synchrony HOME for financing: see Financing. Factory warranties are one year, and an extended five-year warranty is available for an additional charge. Orders cannot be changed once placed, so double-check measurements and finishes before you order. Returns are reviewed by management and are not guaranteed; if approved, a 35% restocking fee plus delivery charges apply. Clearance and floor pieces are final sale with no returns or refunds, so inspect them in person. Our return policy explains the details.
8. Buying from outside Miami-Dade and Broward
Miami-Dade and Broward are the counties we regularly service. If your delivery is anywhere else, whether another city in Florida or outside Florida, contact our sales team to coordinate a delivery date. For international orders, we take the merchandise to the freight forwarder you provide. Showroom pickup can also be arranged in advance with our sales team.
Questions to ask any showroom

Wall Unit Composition 7240
This wall unit composition is manufactured in Spain in high performance laminate, arranged as an asymmetric composition: a tall taupe cabinet anchors one side with a small open cube shelf beside it, a floating white panel bridges the center behind the TV, and an open bookshelf with a taupe back panel floats to the other side. A walnut console with open cubby storage and drawers runs the full width below.
Finished in a mix of dark walnut, matte taupe, and matte white laminate, it brings a layered, gallery-like look to a living room wall.
